PALM BAY, Fla. – A man found kneeling on a darkened Brevard roadway, shouting religious phrases in Arabic and making threats was shocked with a stun gun and subdued by officers, police said.

The incident happened around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 200 block of Fernandina Street in Palm Bay.

Neighbors called police to report that the man was yelling the Arabic phrase for "God is great" and making threats to "blow up" people while talking about June 12 mass shooting at an Orlando nightclub.

At least 10 Palm Bay officers arrived at the scene and ordered the man to surrender, police said.

Authorities said the man hurled rocks, seashells and pine cones at officers, who used a Taser to subdue the man.

The man was taken to a treatment facility for evaluation.

No injuries were reported.
