Man shot while driving in Orange County

Victim taken to Orlando hospital for treatment

APOPKA, Fla. – A man was shot early Tuesday while driving his car in Orange County, according to deputies.

The shooting happened on Orange Blossom Trail near Hermit Smith Road.

According to Orange County sheriff's deputies, a dark-colored car pulled up next to the man's vehicle and someone fired multiple shots.

The man was struck by a bullet but was able to drive to South Park Avenue near East Second Street, where he flagged down an Apopka police officer.

The driver was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries, deputies said.

No details about the shooter were known.

The shooting comes a day after a woman was shot in the head while driving to work. She survived the shooting, and Orange County deputies continue to investigate the Pine Hills shooting.
