Vehicle taken from Central Florida Regional Hospital in Sanford

SANFORD, Fla. – A man was arrested Tuesday after he stole an ambulance from officials at Central Florida Regional Hospital, authorities said.

A firefighter EMT was in the back of the ambulance while a Sanford Fire Department rescue truck was unloading, officials said.

James Weldon Sessions, 43, got inside the ambulance around 4 p.m. and took off, Sanford police said.

The ambulance left the hospital and fled down State Road 46 while officials followed him, police said.
