Joe Perry hospitalized after collapsing during concert

NEW YORK – Legendary guitarist for the band Aerosmith, Joe Perry, fell ill during a concert Sunday night in New York and stumbled off stage, according to NBC News.

Perry was performing with the band Hollywood Vampires at Ford Amphitheater in Brooklyn's Coney Island when he became ill around 9:30 p.m. Sunday, according to ABC 7 in New York.

According Billboard.com sources, Perry left the stage during the first song, but the band continued to play. Video showed a frail Perry struggling to perform, then ducking behind the amp stack.

Hollywood Vampires frontman Alice Cooper tweeted after the show, "Thanks to everyone asking about our brother Joe Perry. He is stable right now, with family and is under the best care."

ABC 7 reports an administrator at Coney Island Hospital confirmed Perry is undergoing tests.

The Hollywood Vampires consists of Guns N' Roses bassist Duff McKagan and drummer Matt Sorum, actor Johnny Depp and Cooper and Perry, according to Fox News.

A publicist for Perry shared a message with Billboard.com which said, "Joe Perry is doing well and resting and appreciates all your good wishes."
