Pedestrian dies after being struck, dragged by SUV, troopers say

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. – A 21-year-old pedestrian was killed early Sunday when he was struck by a vehicle on Navajo Avenue near Cherokee Road.

The Florida Highway Patrol said Sabrina Lensgraf, 19, was traveling on Navajo Avenue around 6:10 a.m. when she struck a pedestrian, Christian Sousa, who was standing in the middle of the road.

Troopers said Sousa was dragged under Lensgraf's Jeep until she pulled into a driveway at 375 Navajo Ave.
Sousa died at the hospital.

Troopers said it's unclear why Sousa was in the middle of the roadway. The crash remains under investigation.
