Deputies search for Good Samaritan in missing 9-year-old's case

Cops say person could have valuable info on girl's disappearance

It's been nearly two months since Diana Alvarez disappeared from her family's home in Lee County, and deputies are continuing to search for the 9-year-old.

They're also looking for someone else now too: the good Samaritan who helped her alleged captor, Jorge Guerrero.

Deputies say that person gave Guerrero a ride to a gas station after his car got stuck on State Road 60 in Osceola County. The good Samaritan is not in any kind of trouble, but could have some valuable information.

In the meantime, Guerrero is locked up on child pornography charges. Diana's family has talked to him since then, and says he claims he doesn't know where she is, but that she is alive.

Anyone with information on this case is asked to call the Lee County Sheriff's Office at 941-964-2400.
