Orange County teen reported missing while on vacation in Washington found safe

A 14-year-old Apopka girl who vanished while on vacation with her family in Washington state has been found safe on Thursday, according to the FBI.

Katie Barlow was with her aunt and uncle, who have primary custody of her, when she disappeared around 9 p.m. Sunday near Seattle. The family was vacationing at Big Lake, officials said.

The FBI said on Thursday that Katie had been located safely in Federal Way. No other details were released.

Officials said Katie walked out of her family's cabin in 50-degree weather to use the bathroom. She was wearing pajamas and no shoes.  Katie's cellphone was found off the side of Interstate 5, about 30 miles away from where the family had been staying, officials said. Barlow's stepfather, Kevin O'Connor, said she typically has her phone with her.
