Disney may soon track guests by their feet

Technology will use sensors, cameras to identify visitors

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. – The next time you go to a Disney theme park, you might want to pay closer attention to your shoes.

Disney has obtained a patent for a new type of technology to track theme park guests through their feet. 

According to the Orlando Sentinel, information given to the patent agency says Disney plans to use senors and cameras to help identify guests and provide a customized park experience. 

Disney already tracks guests through such things as MagicBands and hotel keys. 

The company said there are no immediate plans to use such a system.
