Fire ignites at Orange County middle school

Lightning possibly sparked fire, officials say

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – A fire ignited at an Orange County middle school Wednesday afternoon and fire officials are working to determine if lightning sparked the blaze.

The fire was reported at Corner Lake Middle School on Chuluota Road just after 2 p.m. and prompted the building to be evacuated.

Orange County Fire Rescue said flames were showing from the roof when they arrived at the school.

People were inside of the building at the time of the fire, but it's not clear how many, according to authorities. 

School begins for Orange County Public Schools on Monday.

No other details were immediately available.
