Deputies arrest man in Maitland bank robbery

Juan Ernesto Roque, 46, charged with armed robbery, grand theft

MAITLAND, Fla. – The Seminole County Sheriff’s Office made an arrest Saturday in connection with a Wednesday morning bank robbery in which a teller was held at gunpoint by a man covering his face with a stocking.

The robbery occurred at Trustco Bank in Maitland at 9:30 a.m.

Deputies said Juan Ernesto Roque, 46, of DeBary, was wearing a green camouflage hat, a green plaid button-down shirt, jeans and had beige stocking over his face when he entered the bank with a gun and demanded cash from the teller.

No injuries were reported.

Officials located and arrested Roque Saturday. He was booked into the John E. Polk Correctional Facility on charges of armed robbery, aggravated assault and grand theft.
