Reward offered after body found in Orlando retention pond

Body identified as Aramys Johnson

ORLANDO, Fla – A $5,000 reward is being offered for information in a homicide case after the body of a man who had been shot was found in a retention pond in Orange County.

Deputies on Thursday identified the victim as 26-year-old Aramys Johnson.

Orange County sheriff's deputies said a body was found floating Saturday afternoon in a pond in the 1800 block of Canoe Creek Falls Drive near J. Lawson Boulevard and Boggy Creek Road.

A car plunged into the pond a day earlier, but it was found to be unoccupied, deputies said.

The Orange County Sheriff's Office said the occupant of the submerged vehicle had been involved in an altercation with the occupants of another vehicle prior to the crash.

Deputies said the people in the second vehicle left the scene and remain unidentified.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the Sheriff's Office at 407-254-7000 or Crimeline at 800-423-TIPS.
