Naked man found in Central Florida state park dies in custody

Man identified as Peter Robinson, 57

MELBOURNE, Fla. – The Brevard County Sheriff's Office is investigating after a man found naked and acting erratically Saturday in the area of Sebastian Inlet State Park died.

Deputies said they received reports of the man and arrived at the inlet waterway to find Peter Robinson, 57, of West Palm Beach, naked, not coherent and possibly under the influence of an intoxicating substance.

Robinson was taken to Holmes Regional Medical Center for evaluation. However, when he arrived at the hospital he was pronounced deceased.

Deputies said they learned hours before the reports of the incident at Sebastian Inlet, several agencies had interactions with Robinson after attempts to conduct a traffic stop on Robinson for erratic driving. Each of those attempts resulted in Robinson fleeing law enforcement officers.

Anyone with information on Robinson or the incident can call Crimeline at 800-423-8477.
