Clerk's photo of man accused of stealing lotto tickets leads to arrest

Christopher Sikes arrested in Central Florida

MARION COUNTY, Fla. – A Marion County man is facing charges after deputies sad he broke into a convenience store and stole more than $10,000 worth of lottery tickets.

Deputies said Christopher Sikes tried to cash the tickets at several different locations in Marion and Lake counties, but was stopped with the help of a Leesburg clerk.

The clerk suspected the ticket was stolen and told Sikes to pose for a picture or he would call authorities.

The photo was sent to deputies and posted on Facebook. Sikes was identified within hours and arrested.
