Former Marion middle school student had gun on campus, officials say

Teen arrested after making threats, officials say

OCALA, Fla. – Students at a Marion County school will return to class Friday morning for the first time since a gun scare on campus.

Ocala police say a former student took a realistic-looking pellet gun to Howard Middle School on Thursday and began making threats.

Investigators say the former student tried to run away before he was tracked down and arrested.

No one was hurt, and the former student is now facing several charges, including aggravated assault.
