Shepard Seamans, 22, was arrested shortly after the crash. Police said she stopped but did not offer assistance to Sullens and fled the scene. She was later found at an adult entertainment spot in Cocoa Beach.

Seamans told police she fled the scene of the crash in her Ford Explorer sport utility vehicle because she was scared. She is being held at the Brevard County Jail Complex on a $179,000 bond but will face upgraded charges to reflect the death.

"She said she was scared, and that the pedestrian was unresponsive," said Yvonne Martinez, spokeswoman for the Cocoa Police Department.

She told police that she lost control of her vehicle and hit Sullens, who was standing on the center median.
