Man walked into path of Honda Accord, FHP says

Accident happened at the intersection of South Orange Blossom Trail and 44th Street.

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – An unidentified pedestrian was struck by a car and killed Sunday night in Orange County, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The fatal wreck was reported around 9:20 p.m. at the intersection of South Orange Blossom Trail and 44th Street in Orlando.

Troopers said the pedestrian walked into the direct path of a 2011 Honda Accord driven by a 38-year-old Orlando man, who swerved in an attempt to avoid the man. The Accord struck a tree, but the driver was not injured, troopers said.

The crash remains under investigation.
