Wahlburgers to donate $50,000 to Pulse fund

Lake Eola bandshell to be painted colors of rainbow

ORLANDO, Fla. – Wahlburgers in Downtown Orlando announced the company is donating more than $50,000 to the fund for Pulse victims.

The restaurant said it raised more than $25,000 in T-shirt sales for the fund and Donnie Wahlberg is donating another $25,000.

The first round of donations have already been handed out to the victims and families, so new donations will be added to a separate money pot.

The fund administrator said in the next few weeks the fund will determine the total amount of new donations and whether there should be a second distribution.

The announcement follows the repainting of the Lake Eola bandshell in honor of the Pulse victims.

The bandshell will now be painted in the colors of the rainbow, with each color having a separate meaning. For instance, red is for love, orange is for Orange County and blue is for sadness.

The idea was presented to the Orlando City Council in July. Painting is expected to wrap up by Thursday.
