Central Florida businesses pack food for Haiti hurricane victims

20,000 meals to be sent to island nation

ORLANDO, Fla. – Central Florida businesses will team up Monday to help send relief to Haiti after Hurricane Matthew ravaged the island nation.

Grennan Fender is partnering with Feeding Children Everywhere to pack 20,000 meals for families in need.

The hurricane flooded entire villages, wiped out crops and livestock and cut off parts of the island.

Hundreds of people have already been confirmed dead. Officials in Haiti warned that the death toll from the storm will likely rise as aid workers reach the worst-hit areas.

Monday's event kicks off at 2 p.m. at WhirlyDome at 6464 International Drive in Orlando.
