Publix recalls cookie dough ice cream

Company's chocolate cookie dough ice cream may contain bacterium

The Publix chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream is being recalled because there is a possibility that it might contain listeria monocytogenes, according to WTSP.

Listeria is a bacteria that can cause infections among people with weakened immune systems.

The ice cream under recall has the UPC number 000-41415-03843, the sell by date of May 27, 2017, and was sold in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Alabama and Tennessee.

Publix is removing the ice cream from its shelves and costumers can return the ice cream for a full refund.
