Deputies: Port St. John man hit, killed by train


PORT ST. JOHN, Fla. – An investigation is underway after a man was hit and killed Monday by a two-mile long train in Port St. John, according to the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff’s office was called to the scene near U.S. 1 and Fay Boulevard before 9 p.m. after a railroad worker reported a man later identified as Raymond East, 36, laying on the tracks as the train came through.

The train conductor found the body near Elkham Boulevard, deputies said.
