Police ID man wanted in robbery, carjacking at Ormond Beach Walmart

Authorities search for stolen gray 2013 Ford Focus

ORMOND BEACH, Fla. – Authorities are looking for a man who they say might have stolen a BB gun from a Walmart in Volusia County and used it to rob the store before he carjacked a 19-year-old woman.

Ormond Beach police said Friday that Nicholas Dinovo, 35, is wanted in connection with the robbery and carjacking, which were reported about 8 a.m. Thursday at the Walmart in Ormond Beach.

Police said Dinovo entered the store and either stole the gun or used a real firearm and went to the customer service area, where he demanded money and took an unknown amount of cash.

He left the store, followed a teen, pointed the gun at her and threatened her, police said. Dinovo stole her car, a gray 2013 Ford Focus with Florida license plate 4530JJ, police said. The car has a Daytona State sticker and a “Princess” sticker.

Dinovo was described as a heavyset man with dark hair. He was wearing a green polo shirt and black basketball shorts with flip-flops or shower shoes.

No other details have been released.
