Study: Facebook users could live longer

People who use Facebook may live longer than those who do not use the social media site.

A UC San Diego study of 12 million Facebook users found they were 12 percent less likely to die, although social or economic differences may also play a role.

People who had larger social networks, posted the most photos and accepted the most Facebook friendships lived the longest.

Experts however do say it's important to be social in person as well as online.

Previous studies have found people who are lonely and socially isolated don’t live as long as those who maintain connections with family and friends.
