GROVELAND, Fla. – A 2-year-old boy drowned Wednesday evening in the shallow water behind a Groveland home, officials said.
Deputies were called about 6 p.m. to the 9600 block of Dr. Baker Road, according to a statement from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.
The boy was found in the murky water and taken to a hospital, but he was pronounced dead when he arrived, deputies said.
A friend of the boy’s family performed CPR before emergency officials arrived.
No other details have been release by authorities.
