Orange, Osceola counties now eligible for FEMA public assistance

Broward County also now eligible, FEMA says

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Federal Emergency Management Agency said state, local and tribal government agencies and certain private nonprofits in Broward, Orange and Osceola counties can now apply for funding through its public assistance grant program.

FEMA's program aims to help eligible applicants pay for damage caused by Hurricane Matthew. FEMA officials said this includes debris removal, emergency protective measures and the repair or rebuilding of roads, bridges, water-control facilities, buildings, equipment, utilities, parks and recreational facilities.

Counties that were previously designated for funding include Bradford, Brevard, Clay, Duval, Flagler, Indian River, Lake, Martin, Nassau, Palm Beach, Putnam, Seminole, St. Johns, St. Lucie and Volusia, FEMA officials said.
