Orlando man trying to steal beer bites store employee, police say

ORLANDO, Fla. – A man is accused of biting a store employee on Tuesday when confronted about stealing beer from a convience store, according to the arrest report.

Orlando police responded to the call at 9:44 a.m. on Columbia Street to find Daniel Johnson detained by two men.

The men, identified as the store owner and an employee, told police Johnson had stolen a 12-pack of Corona Beer from Sam’s Service Station on Burton Boulevard.

Police spoke with the store owner who showed them surveillance video of Johnson removing the beer and leaving the store.

When the store owner confronted Johnson about the beer Johnson became aggressive. When the store employee attempted to help restrain Johnson, the suspect bit him, the report said.

Police observed a bite wound with blood around it on the victim's arm.

Johnson is charged with theft, aggravated battery and resisting a merchant. He was booked into the Orange County Jail on $3,750 bond.
