ORLANDO, Fla. – A man accused of breaking into an Orlando family's home while they were asleep and attacking them with a hammer is expected to make his first appearance before a judge Thursday.
Orange County deputies said Michael Rivera, 23, broke into a home on Abercorn Drive just off Semoran Boulevard Wednesday morning.

The couple inside said Rivera was wearing a mask and gloves when he woke them up, according to deputies. A man in the home struggled with Rivera until deputies arrived, officials said.
No one was seriously hurt.
A motive in the attack is not known.
Rivera faces multiple charges.
