DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Tanger Outlet Mall will open its doors to shoppers for the first time.
"Everything is fine. Things are coming together," mechanic Charles Kaminsky said. "I think they're doing a very good job on it. It's beautiful."
Construction crews put finishing touches on the 350,000 square foot space by washing windows, fixing signs and assembling Christmas trees. Employees were busy decorating the store front windows and filling the spaces inside.
"It's been a lot of work. We had to build shelves, hang clothes, and sensor clothes. It's a very tedious project," said Dominique Rodman, a sales associate.
"It's going to be good," cashier Megan Cron said.
Megan Cron, who works at Toys R Us, said employees will spend the next few days unpacking boxes and pricing items over the next few days.
"We're just now getting a truck, so it's going to be a lot of fun stuff and with the holidays coming, it'll be a lot busier," she said.
Keeping busy is a good thing, especially for the many workers who also live in Volusia County.
"It was really needed," Rodman said.
"It really has opened up a lot of job opportunities for a lot of people and also gives the area a more variety of services to choose from," said Tre Williams, a sales associate.
The 10-building complex, decorated with massive signs, is on the east side of I-95 and will be ready just in time for Black Friday.
"I'm going to bring my daughter up here as soon as I can," Cron said.
