MELBOURNE, Fla. – Police responded to calls in reference to a man banging on the door of one of the units in the English Park Condominium complex Saturday night, according to the Melbourne Police Department.
Police said the callers indicated that the man outside their door was complaining of having been shot.
Once officers arrived to the scene, they found the man had suffered multiple gunshot wounds, according to Melbourne police. He was tended to at the scene by emergency personnel before being transported to a nearby hospital.
According to the police department, the victim was stabilized and is expected to recover from his injuries.
Although the man was conscious, police said he could not provide them with much information.
Officers were in the process of interviewing neighbors and potential witnesses, police said. A suspect was not identified.
