ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – Deputies say they are trying to identify a man who stole a person's vehicle before trying to run that person over.
It happened Nov. 29 at a 7-Eleven at 5719 Old Winter Garden Road.
Deputies said the victim had left his still-running care in the parking lot. As the victim was paying inside, he saw the thief get into his car, so he attempted to chase it. That's what the assailant turned the car toward the man and drove directly at him, but he managed to get out of the way.
Deputies said the thief got away, but the vehicle was later found in the area of 23rd Street and Parramore Avenue.
The thief is described as black, approximately 28-30 years old. He was wearing red and white pants, a gray T-shirt over a white long-sleeved shirt and a white hat turned backward.
