Central Florida Zoo may soon offer beer

Zoo wants to serve alcohol daily

SANFORD, Fla. – There could be something new coming to the Central Florida Zoo in Sanford. It's not a new animal or an exhibit, but rather alcohol.

Currently, the zoo can only sell beer and wine at special events.

Commissioners on Tuesday, however, are expected to vote on a new agreement that would allow beer and wine sales daily.

The proposal would also allow the zoo to sell other alcoholic drinks during events.

The Central Florida Zoo would have to get a special insurance policy if it wants to go through with the change.
