WINTER GARDEN, Fla. – A Publix in Winter Garden was robbed Tuesday morning at knifepoint, police said.
Winter Garden police said a man wearing a bandanna over his face entered the store on Stoneybrook Parkway at 7:30 a.m. and robbed a clerk.
The man left the store and drove off in a black sedan with chrome trim, police said.
Police initially said that the man had a gun, not a knife.
It's not known how many customers were in the store at the time of the robbery. No injuries were reported.
A description of the man and car were not immediately known.
Police said detectives will review surveillance video from the grocery store.
Nearby Whispering Oak Elementary School was briefly placed on lockdown as a precaution after the robbery.
