A 14-year-old South Brevard middle school student faces charges he forced another student into a sexual act in a campus restroom earlier this month, authorities reported.
The victim immediately told teachers, who then called the police, News 6 partner Florida Today reports.
The teen, whose name is not being released by Florida Today because of his age, was charged with sexual battery. Police withheld the name of the school, citing state law.
Brevard Public Schools officials are also reviewing the incident.
The suspect confronted the victim – who pleaded to be left alone – in the restroom and said that someone from Orlando had sent him a text message telling him to carry out the act or someone would target him for an attack, police reports show.
Detectives found no evidence of the suspect's claim.
School officials contacted police and state authorities.
