Vintage ornaments worth $605 stolen from Ocala home

Items were left by mailbox to be shipped

OCALA, Fla. – A small business owner says someone stole $605 worth of vintage Christmas ornaments and decorations from her front yard as she was waiting for the Postal Service to pick them up, according to the Marion County Sheriff's Office.

The victim left seven boxes of ornaments by her mailbox on Thursday around 10 a.m. The woman runs a small business and had arranged for the Postal Service to ship the merchandise to buyers.

A few hours later, around 1:30 p.m., the victim saw that the clear plastic tote bags the boxes had been in were strewn across her yard and the boxes were missing.

The Postal Service and UPS both told the victim that they hadn't picked up the packages. The victim's neighbors didn't see who took the boxes.

Stolen items include antique German Christmas ornaments, a Martha Stewart vintage putz scale house and an antique chenille wreath.
