SunRail releases video of train slamming into car

Driver escaped before impact

ORLANDO, Fla. – SunRail has released video of one of its trains hitting a car that was stuck on tracks near Orange Avenue Thursday evening.

The video shows a light-colored car with both wheels on its driver's side resting on the right side of the track as its trunk faces the front of the train.

A loud crash is heard as the SunRail train slams into the back of the car. The sedan isn't seen again in the 17-second video. The train then slows and comes to a stop.

Troopers said Jean Marseille, 73, was attempting to turn around on the tracks when he got stuck. A bystander, Nelson Perez, 30, ran to Marseille's car and helped him out before the train struck.

No one was hurt in the incident.

A News 6 viewer also provided video of the impact. Bystanders can be heard yelling moments before the train slams into the car and forces it along the tracks.

That video is embedded below.
