Burn ban in place for Seminole County

Violators can face up to $500 fine, 60 days of imprisonment


SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. – A countywide burn ban was issued for Seminole County Saturday morning, according to county officials.

All outdoor burning that has not been specifically permitted by the Florida Forest Service is prohibited during the mandatory burn ban, according to the Seminole County Fire Department and Seminole County Office of Emergency Management officials.

Bonfires, campfires, and the burning of yard debris is not allowed during the ban. Officials also strongly discouraged the use of fireworks.

Anyone who violates the burn ban could face a fine up to $500, up to 60 days of imprisonment, or both, according to Seminole County officials.

The burn ban remains in effect until further notice. .
