An investigation revealed that the victim had executed a lawful repossession of Clayborne's truck, and Clayborne was trying to prevent him from taking it, police said. Probable cause was developed for Clayborne's arrest.

Police said a 9mm handgun was recovered from Clayborne's vehicle. Forfeiture proceedings had been started on Clayborne's red 2003 Dodge Ram.

Clayborne faces charges that include aggravated assault with a firearm, shooting into an occupied vehicle and fleeing or eluding.

He was booked into the Brevard County Jail Complex, according to the Brevard County Sheriff's Office. His bond was set at $10,000.
