Man stabbed several times in family feud, Volusia deputies say

K-9 tracks down man in Deltona neighborhood

DELTONA, Fla. – A man was stabbed several times in the chest late Monday during a family fight in Volusia County, deputies said.

The Volusia County Sheriff's Office said David Ramsey, 47, was arrested in the stabbing, which was reported around 11:30 p.m. at a home on East Normandy Boulevard near Vann Park in Deltona.

Investigators said Ramsey and his cousin were fighting when Ramsey's cousin threw a chair at him. Ramsey then stabbed his cousin at least twice on his torso and once under his chin, deputies said.

Deputies said Ramsey and his cousin had been drinking when an argument led to the fight.

The stabbing victim was taken to Central Florida Regional Center, where he underwent two surgeries, officials said.

Ramsey ran from the house but was tracked down by a K-9, deputies said.

Ramsey was taken to a hospital after complaining of having trouble breathing, deputies said. He was later booked into jail on charges of attempted second-degree murder, battery and violation of his parole.
