BARTOW, Fla. – A detention deputy for Polk County is facing charges of aggravated battery after she allegedly stabbed her live-in boyfriend.
The Bartow Police Department arrested 32-year-old Trevon Evans on Friday afternoon after discovering her boyfriend at their apartment with a stab wound.
Police said the stabbing followed an argument where Evans took the victim's phone and then demanded that he provide her access to it.
Evans was charged with two counts of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, domestic violence and theft.
Evans has worked for the Polk County Sheriff's Office the last 15 months at the central county jail.
Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said in a statement that Evans has been suspended from her job and that his office has begun the process to terminate her.
It is not known if she has an attorney.
