OPD investigating after car shot several times

Officers heard gunshots come from Washington St., Garland Ave.

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Orlando Police Department is investigating an incident that occurred early Sunday morning.

Around 1:30 a.m., police said they heard multiple gunshots coming from the area of West Washington Street and Garland Avenue.

One officers arrived, they found a vehicle that had been shot several times, with a shot pattern that appeared to be "consistent with trying to hit the occupants inside," police said.

Orlando police said investigation revealed that an orange Dodge Challenger was involved in a crash with the vehicle that had been shot. Police said a silver Buick was accompanying or following the Challenger when all three of the vehicles pulled over in the middle of West Washington Street and a physical altercation began.

During the altercation, a passenger from the Challenger began shooting at the victim's vehicle, police said. No one was hit by the gunfire.

The vehicles fled the area. No other details were available.
