Trio believed to be connected to burglaries arrested, Lake County deputies say

Residents in Minneola, Clermont areas report homes burglarized

LAKE COUNTY, Fla. – Three people were arrested after several residents in the Minneola and Clermont areas reported Saturday that their homes had been burglarized, the Lake County Sheriff's Office said.

A deputy saw the suspected vehicle, a black Camaro, while canvassing the area of the Palisades subdivision in Minneola.

The Sheriff's Office said that when the deputy made contact with those inside the car, the deputy noticed they matched the description of the suspects from the reported burglaries.

A stolen Social Security card and stolen jewelry were found in the car, deputies said.

Gianni Brooks, 19, of Gainesville, Gloj'mar Nelson-Carter, 19, of Hawthorne, and Kevin Andrews, 19, of Clermont, were arrested. The Sheriff's Office said it is undetermined how many charges will be added to these three.

The Sheriff's Office and the Clermont Police Department responded to eight reported burglaries Saturday and expect to be able to connect the three to them, deputies said.

The Sheriff's Office said the men are also suspects in many other cases spanning several jurisdictions as far north as Gainesville.

Clermont police said they are working multiple cases they believe the trio may be in connection to, but do not have charges at this time. No other details were available.

Palisades resident Jim Campbell says he wasn't aware of the burglaries, but is glad the suspects are off the streets.

"It's been a quiet neighborhood. The last few years, there have been a few break-ins, but this is the first I've heard of this," Campbell said. "I'm glad they're caught!"
