Deputies search for person of interest in August homicide

ORLANDO, Fla. – Deputies are searching for Cristopher Luis Medina Fernandez as a person of interest in an August homicide.

Orange County sheriff's deputies said the victim as 26-year-old Aramys Johnson, was found Aug. 13 floating in a pond in the 1800 block of Canoe Creek Falls Drive near J. Lawson Boulevard and Boggy Creek Road.

A car plunged into the pond a day earlier, but it was found to be unoccupied, deputies said.

The Orange County Sheriff's Office said the occupant of the submerged vehicle had been involved in an altercation with the occupants of another vehicle prior to the crash.

There is a $5,000 Crimeline reward offered for information about the case.
