Cast members shared the stories from The Kinsey Collection book to educate the students about the importance of their heritage and legacy.

“This is important because it continues inspire our kids each and every day and show those wonderful ideals from the African heritage that inspires kids that they can do the impossible with those qualities each and every day,” Disney volunteer Ken Facey told News 6.

The students were able to participate in an art activity, consisting of writing a word on a vision sphere to have them visualize their future.

The spheres will be displayed outdoors on a tree to remind the teens to look toward the future.
