Line workers teamed up and competed in several events such as hurt-man rescues, equipment repairs and pole climbs, Duke Energy officials said. They were judged on speed, agility, technique and safety procedures.
Duke Energy officials said the top winners in Saturday's competition secured a spot in the International Lineman's Rodeo competition in Bonner Springs, Kansas. That competition is set to take place in October.
