South Florida Jewish center evacuated over possible bomb threat

10 Jewish Community Centers in U.S. receive threats Monday

DAVIE, Fla. – The David Posnack JCC in Davie has been evacuated following a possible bomb threat, one of many across the country Monday morning.

Sky 10 was overhead as students and staff gathered outside on-campus buildings just after 9:15 a.m.

Teachers were seen guiding young children across the street to nearby locations where parents will be allowed to pick them up.

Upper school students can be picked up at Cathedral Pentacost church, while preschoolers will be at the Walgreens on Pine Island Road.

The numbers of children on campus was almost doubled as students from the Hollywood JCC campus were visiting the Davie location for a performance when the threat was made.

Reports claim up to 10 Jewish Community Centers in the U.S. received threats Monday.

Several JCC's across the country have been threatened over the last few weeks, although none of the threats were deemed credible after investigations.
