TAVARES, Fla. – A missing Tavares teen who has Asperger's syndrome and is bipolar has been found safe, police said.
Asja Gunn, 18, was reported missing at 9:30 p.m. Monday when her mother realized that her daughter was not home, Tavares police said. Asja has the mental capacity of a 10-year-old, and police said she's endangered.
A Tavares police officer found Asja walking in the area Tuesday morning, officials said. She was taken home and is safe, police said.
A search using a helicopter and a bloodhound was launched Monday night.
