Deputies find man's remains in 'advanced stages of decomposition'

SUMTER COUNTY, Fla. – The Sumter County Sheriff's Office has identified a man whose remains were found Friday afternoon and says his death was a homicide.

The Sheriff's Office was notified at 12:17 p.m. Friday of a possible human body in a ditch on County Road 514 outside of the city of Coleman.

Deputies found a man's remains in the "advanced stages of decomposition," the Sheriff's Office said.

The man was identified by the Sheriff's Office as Jack "Dom" Dominick Cattedra III, 24.

The Sheriff's Office said Cattedra was last seen Sunday near his home in the city of Lady Lake.

The cause of death was not released, but the Sheriff's Office said the manner has been ruled a homicide.
