ORLANDO, Fla. – The University of Central Florida plans to break ground on their downtown campus in a little over two months.
The groundbreaking is set to take place on May 11, while plans for construction are set to begin during the summer.
“We are excited to begin work on a campus that will create new pathways to education in Orlando, and we look forward to a community celebration in May,” UCF vice president for Strategic Communications and Marketing Christine Dellert said.
The downtown campus is expected to open in fall 2019 and will welcome 7,700 students when it is complete in the heart of the city’s Creative Village.
The city of Orlando, BB &T bank, Orlando Magic, Dr. Phillips Charities and others contributed to the downtown campus project.
