Cops: Man threatens woman with hunting knife in road rage at Publix

Deltona woman says man pulled out large hunting-style knife, machete

DELTONA, Fla. – A Deltona woman said she was leaving a Publix parking lot when a man threatened her with a hunting knife in an alleged road rage incident, according to the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office.

The woman was exiting the parking lot on Howland Boulevard in her vehicle when she said she pulled out in front of another driver. She waved at the other driver to apologize, according to the report.

The man driving the other vehicle pulled alongside her and started yelling obscenities at her, deputies said. The victim said the man pulled out a large “hunting-style knife or a machete” and shook it at her in a “threatening matter,” according to the incident report.

During the incident, the woman said she continued to apologize to the man but he became more irate and yelled at her.

Deputies are still investigating the road rage incident.

The victim described the man as white and between 30 and 35 years old. Anyone with information about the incident can contact the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office.
