SpaceX to launch satellite from Space Coast next week

Mission will take broadcast satellite into orbit

The second try in April was nearly successful, but a brief engine malfunction caused the rocket to fall off its platform and into the ocean.

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. – SpaceX says it is planning a launch from the Space Coast in just four days.

The announcement came after a Falcon 9 rocket successfully test-fired its engines Thursday night.

SpaceX tweeted a picture of the test from launch pad 39-A at the Kennedy Space Center.

Tuesday's planned launch will put a new broadcast satellite into orbit.

The launch window is set to open at 1:34 a.m. Tuesday.
