Woman stabbed in back trying to help break up fight

Chest tube inserted to help her breathe

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla.A woman in Daytona Beach suffered severe injuries Saturday when she tried to break up a fight in a parking lot at Molly Brown's police said.

The woman told police that she was in the back parking lot of Molly Brown's with her boyfriend when they saw two women get into a fight.

The pair told officers that they tried to help break up the fight, but two men appeared and began to fight with them, according to the police report.

The women told police that she noticed that one of the men had a knife, while the other fought with her boyfriend.

She said that's all she remembers.

According to the report, hospital staff told the officer that the woman's right lung filled with blood and she was having difficulty breathing.  A chest tube was inserted to help her breathe.

The woman told police that she could identify the man who is accused of stabbing her and that she wants to press charges.

Browning's boyfriend told investigators that the knife had a 4-to-5-inch blade and looked like a pocketknife.

Bennett said the other man attacked him, and grabbed him by his long dreads, and while he was being pulled by the hair he was bent over and was kneed in the face. He was also hit in the back of the head according to the report.

Bennett complained of a headache and had bruising and swelling on the left side of his forehead, police said.
